Local Foodbank Donations

After being approached by some concerned parents about local families in need St Machan's decided to help a local foodbank as part of their annual Lenten charity work.  Each week of Lent the children have brought in kind donations, of non perishable food and other household items, which will go to help some of the poorest members of our community.  Volunteer parents have been collecting the goods and delivering them to the foodbank every Friday.  As well as this work St Machan's are also collecting for SCIAF and raised over £1300 for Malawi in the recent coffee morning held in the school.  Thank you once again for the generosity of everyone who has donated money or items for these worthy causes. Collections will continue until the end of this term.

On behalf of the foodbank I want to give a big thank you to the pupils and parents of St Machan's School.

Hi, I work often with the distribution side of the food bank and would like to say how much the food that is donated is appreciated. To see the reaction of people when they are gifted food is a real privilege. Thank you to all in the school who have so kindly brought in food for our community.
