Burns Supper 2014

On 24th January Mrs Irving returned to St Machan's to organise her world famous Burns Supper for the P5-7s. It really was an extravaganza of music, dancing, poetry, song and history. The children made Scottish placemats for their tables and participated in a procession to pipe in the haggis. A guest piper came along to play and Mrs Murray our guest storyteller brought Tam O'Shanter to life when she told the story in character as Tam's long sufferring wife. There was also haggis and tablet for everyone. The tablet was kindly made and donated by Finnan's gran. Thank you to all the teachers and guests involved who worked hard to give the children this special experience.
